I can take RCA cables and output to an HDMI connection.
I have old gaming consoles that only use AV cables.
The converter works as described, but it requires direct wall plug-in for power supply and won't work with multi-outlet surge protectors or similar devices.
If you run it through an adapter like an HDMI switch with 2 or more HDMI connections, you will need an extra power source from that connector or it will cut in and out.

I played Super Mario Bros. and Tetris on my original Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) and did not notice any lag.
I faced some issues while testing the product with NES and Gamecube, but I was able to fix it by zooming in a bit with a picture mode on my TV to add in natural overscan. After that, it was not a problem.
The USB power cord fell out of the device twice with minimal contact and is not durable.
I bought this device because my previous one had poor picture quality after 5 years.
