About Amazon Basics 4K HDMI to HDMI and Audio (RCA Stereo or Spdif) Extractor Converter
Overall Feedback:
75% positive
64% liked the perfect connectivity, but 36% found it lacking
I bought this device to connect my projector to my soundbar for audio while still using the projector for video.
This product worked flawlessly on my brand new 4K video projector and I needed to capture digital audio to route it to my sound system.
I faced a problem with video playback at 4K resolution. The player and TV were not syncing properly and I had to deal with the issue of HDCP 2.2 connection.
68% liked the long-lasting durability, but 32% found it wore out quickly
All our items have failed in less than a year.
I diagnosed the issue as a splitter problem and am disappointed that it did not last longer than expected.
I have been frustrated with Amazon's quality control as I have been purchasing low-quality items lately.
76% found it easy to install, while 24% had difficulties in it
For those who prefer uncompressed streaming through a quality integrated amplifier for 2.0 or 2.1 music, the setup is simple.
I suggest improving the product by shipping it with its own power adapter. It took me a while to find one that I could afford to dedicate to this device.
66% appreciated the high-quality output, though 34% noticed a loss in quality
I purchased a different extractor on Amazon which had a distorted video picture and returned it. Then, I purchased this Amazon Basics extractor and it works great. The picture quality is the same as without the extractor and the sound is great as well.
I tested the product and found that it converts the beautiful 4K image into 1080.
The device does not support HDCP 2.2 and breaks any video presentation that requires it.
The product works, but the picture quality is only 1080p and not 4K as advertised.
69% liked the sound quality, but 31% found it got bad
The sound quality is pretty good and there is no noticeable degradation in audio quality from using this adapter vs. direct optical out to my AV receiver.
I was initially skeptical about losing picture quality, but was pleasantly surprised to find that the sound quality was crystal clear after using the product.
I am able to drive the rear speakers when I have the box set to 5.1 mode, indicating good enough sound quality to support surround sound speakers.
I am disappointed because the converter does not allow me to hear Netflix/Youtube in Surround Sound 5.1, which was the reason I purchased it.
I successfully connected the HDMI wire from Roku to this device and then connected the red/white yellow connections to my TV. I selected the appropriate input from my TV remote and the Roku home page appeared. I am happy with the picture and sound quality, which is as good as any other input from cable.
I have noticed that the device does not work at all.
