I adjusted the bag slightly more toward the back of the car on the trip back and the road noise was a bit less.
I tried to fix the issue by loosening the straps, but I was not able to fix it.
I bought a smaller size without measuring and comparing, but after filling it up, I realized a bigger size would have been better.

I used the roofbag to take my daughter to college, driving from St. Louis to Southern California. We drove to the outer edges of tropical storm Hilary, encountering relatively high winds and heavy rain. The roofbag did not move, and the contents of the roofbag (primarily clothes, bedding, and a mattress topper) remained dry.
There is some extra room to put additional things.

I was able to fit a large suitcase full, a large hockey bag, and other stuff in the rooftop carrier, indicating that the vehicle-cargo-carriers have good capacity.
