I have personally experienced that the camera has a wider view than the extended mirrors I was using, making it a better option.
I installed one camera for the back and one for the front. I plan to install two more cameras on each wing mirror to see all blind spots. Setting up the cameras was very easy and they automatically paired. I also set up to switch between front and back instead of splitting the screen.
