I adjusted the monitor image and backup guidelines in an empty parking lot. The guidelines are easily adjustable with brightness, contrast, color, and tint controls, and allow for horizontal and vertical position adjustments. I set the green guidelines to indicate objects 8 away from the bumper, yellow guides for 4 away, and red ones for 2 away. It's very easy to remember.

At night, the camera is very sensitive and the LED lights only turn on in really dark areas as they have photo sensors.
