I found the vacuum-sealer easy to use for both wide mouth jars and regular jars. It came with extra lids and a bottle opener, and the directions were easy to follow. Additionally, it is rechargeable.

The vacuum achieved by this vacuum sealer is sufficient to make the lids difficult to pry off by hand, but not as great as is achieved by either water or pressure canning, for which I need a pry tool to open.
