Overall Feedback:
93% positive
89% liked its compatibility with multiple devices
The dongle works with Ventura 13.2.1 even though our monitors have grandfather resolutions.
I had concerns about the compatibility of the adapter with my MacBook Air, but it worked well.
I was able to get the device working on my Kali 2.0 Linux system using a modified version of the Ubuntu drivers published by displaylink, since the chipset of the device is DL-5500.
I can use two external displays on my M1 Macbook Air with this adapter, even though it only natively supports one.
86% praised for its durability, but 14% experienced issues
I was surprised that the adapter could handle an ultra-wide UHD display resolution of 3440 X 1440 from my Intel i7 laptop with 16gb of ram already pushing 2 4k standard displays without any noticeable lag at full resolution.
I faced an issue with the DisplayLink monitor not waking up after going to sleep, even after trying different HDMI and USB connections. However, I found that the issue was due to a bad HDMI cable and it works great after using a different one.
The USB-to-VGA adapter reverts to 1920x1080 about every other bootup.
I faced some lag while using the second monitor with the StarTech USB 3.0 to DisplayPort (USB32DPPRO) adapter before using this one.
86% found it easy to set up and use
I had a previous adapter which had a little lag, so I decided to upgrade to this adapter and I am much happier with it.

About every other bootup, the adapter reverts to 1920x1080.
I often experienced inconsistencies while using the USB-to-VGA adapter.
89% praised the crisp video quality, while 11% experienced pixelation
I can watch a video with no lag on an ultra wide UHD display resolution of 3440 X 1440 from my Intel i7 laptop with 16gb of ram already pushing 2 4k standard displays.
The adapter supports only 30Hz on 4K, but it is fine for browsing and watching YouTube.
The USB 3.0 interface ensures fast data transfer rates and reliable connectivity, which is crucial for smooth video playback and responsive performance when using dual monitors.
The device works well with Linux, specifically Ubuntu 17.10 with the latest Display Link drivers on Gnome Xorg.
