About Amazon Basics USB 3.0 to 10/100/1000 Gigabit Ethernet Internet Adapter
Overall Feedback:
97% positive
95% liked its seamless compatibility with various devices, but 5% had issues with compatibility
Now the product is fixed and compatible with Big Sur.
The adapter allows me to backup to/restore from my NAS perfectly and is compatible with Acronis True Image USB recovery disk.
The adapter has compatibility issues with Macs. Modern Macs do not have optical drives, making it impossible to install the driver using the enclosed CD-ROM disc.
Under Big Sur, we do not have a properly working driver for Asix.
If the product fails and my Mac system is up to date, it may cause serious compatibility issues. However, it could be great for someone who can use it.
95% liked the long-lasting durability, but 5% found it got bad very soon
The current adapter is more durable than the previous one and will not break apart even if stepped on.
The device has exceptional build quality and a good weight to it.
As a portable device, I prefer the Anker Aluminum version for its better look, feel, and durability.
Some users have reported that their adapters died unexpectedly after a short amount of time. I will update my review if this happens to me.
When transfer rates exceed 70MB/s for an extended period of time, the unit fails due to insufficient thermal bleed-off capacity of the case around the circuitry.
94% found it easy to install and use, while 6% had trouble with the installation process
For large files, file transfers consistently exceed 100MB/s and the latency is very low in Windows.
After the reboot, a pop-up appears asking to load a system extension. It must be allowed, otherwise it gets disabled. It can be easily fixed through 'Security and Privacy' settings.
I had to use it myself and it was not out of the box for me.
The cable is too short to comfortably extend beyond the gap in the hatch, making it cumbersome to close and leaving the device jutting out awkwardly.
95% praised for its fast data transfer speeds, while 5% experienced lag
I have been impressed with the performance of this USB 3 to Ethernet adapter. In Windows, file transfers alone consistently exceed 100MB/s for large files and the latency is also very low. The adapter does not seem to get warm, even after heavy usage.
Using the adapter for Ethernet instead of the Ethernet port on my laptop gives me much higher speed and performance.
The USB network adapter works perfectly and supports 10/100/1000 GigaBit.
I keep the adapters around because I've needed an ethernet connection a couple of times, but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who actually needs performance.

I have tested the new 3.0 adapter and it works perfectly without any audio issues.
