About Anker 332 USB-C Hub (5-in-1 with 4K HDMI Display)
Overall Feedback:
75% positive
66% praised the data transfer speed, however 34% found it slower
The hub has two high-speed USB-A data ports that can deliver data transfer speeds of up to 5Gbps.
I noticed that the Anker hub is recognized as a USB 2.1 device by my laptop and any hard drive connected through it runs at USB 2.1 speed only. This results in slow data transfer speed of 20-40 MB/s.
67% highlighted the power delivery feature, while 33% didn't
The USB-C port has power delivery capabilities, allowing me to charge my devices while connecting peripherals or transferring data.
The PD port on my MacBook Air is only for power input and cannot be used for power output or data transfer.
66% liked the variety of port types
Most hubs only have one port for PD charging, so I will be connecting all my USB devices via the USB-A ports.
I can connect the hub to my laptop through the USB-C type connector and it provides other types of connections.
66% appreciated the number of ports, yet 34% required more
I need more USB-A ports and this hub provides me with 2 more without sacrificing my USB-C ports.
I suggested adding at least 2 data ports to the design of this adapter since most laptops only have 1, but even with the adapter plugged in, I still only have access to one port since only one device can be plugged in at a time.
69% praised the wide compatibility, but 31% encountered issues
Anker customer service advised me that daisy-chaining this hub with another hub can cause compatibility issues and is not recommended.
The USB hub works perfectly with my iPad Pro but is incompatible with my Surface Pro 9 and HP laptop.
The hub is compatible with PC using USB A or USB C ports, but the HDMI port is useless despite the listing claiming PC compatibility.
65% appreciated the cable length, but 35% required longer cables
The cable length of my device is approximately 7 inches and it is made of rigid material, making it less bendable.
I listed the specific ports available on the hub: 1 USB-C data port, 1 USB-C Power Delivery Port, 2 USB-A data ports, 1 HDMI port, an Ethernet port, and a microSD/SD card reader.
I was able to connect my phone, ipad, and nintendo switch to it while all 7 blue ports were in use and it didn't flinch.
