About Anker 10 Port 60W Data Hub with 7 USB 3.0 Ports and 3 PowerIQ Charging Ports
Overall Feedback:
87% positive
88% appreciated the number of ports, yet 12% required more
I was able to connect my phone, ipad, and nintendo switch to it while all 7 blue ports were in use and it didn't flinch.
I noticed that the first 4 port hub exposes 3 ports externally and the 4th port is used internally to create another 4 port hub which is exposed for the user, bringing up to 7 data ports externally.
The USB hub has 7 data ports and 3 dedicated charging ports, despite being noted as having 10 ports.
I want 10 USB ports but the product only has 7 USB ports and 3 charging-only ports.
94% highlighted the power delivery feature, while 6% didn't
The powerbrick is tightly packed and the cord where it enters the brick cracked and shorted out.
The power delivery of the hub is inconsistent even with an external power supply. It's too risky to plug in power-hungry devices like a MIDI controller or tablet.
85% liked the variety of port types
The 10 port hub has a dedicated charging port which also acts as a data transfer point like all the other ports.
90% praised the data transfer speed, however 10% found it slower
After rebooting my laptop, I was able to achieve transfer speeds of 3.0 with a range of 110-130 MB/s.
Hard drives and even memory sticks or flash drives operate at far below their best possible speeds due to the Ankers circuit design.
The data transfer rate is slow when connecting a device directly to the computer.
85% praised the wide compatibility
The Anker USB 3.0 Hub works as expected and has reliable backwards compatibility with legacy USB 2.0 devices.
84% appreciated the cable length, but 16% required longer cables
The cable length is not sufficient to reach from the top of my desk to my desktop machine under the desk unless I have a very small and/or low desk.
I can connect multiple peripherals, including external hard drives, flash drives, and other USB-enabled accessories, without any compromise on speed or performance with this USB C hub that has four high-speed 3.0 ports.
I listed the specific ports available on the hub: 1 USB-C data port, 1 USB-C Power Delivery Port, 2 USB-A data ports, 1 HDMI port, an Ethernet port, and a microSD/SD card reader.
