I faced issues with the device and advise to look for a better build quality.
Based on two attempts, I find the quality of the USB flash drive terrible.
85% were impressed by extensive compatibility, but 15% weren't
The Ultra Flair is compatible with a wide range of devices as it is backward-compatible with USB 2.0 ports.
It was initially difficult to plug into a 4-USB 3.0 hub, but with a little extra effort, it worked fine.
USB flash drives are slim and avoid issues with busy USB ports on desktops and hubs.
The flash drive is easy to use with CDJ decks. I simply plug it in and the decks recognize it instantly, allowing me to access my music library with ease.
I plugged the drives into the two USB 3.0 ports at the back of the motherboard and they operated side by side for at least 6 months without any issue.
The product is formatted to FAT32, which is not usually used on similar products and is not compatible with Windows and Mac PCs.
The USB flash drive's shell, including the connector, is made entirely of plastic.
86% appreciated the data security features, but 14% disagreed
The SanDisk Ultra Flair USB 3.0 Flash Drive has built-in SanDisk SecureAccess software, which lets me create a private folder on my drive and password-protect my sensitive files with 128-bit AES encryption, providing an additional layer of security for my personal data, whether I am at home, in the office, or on the go.
The encryption software is simple and effective at protecting sensitive data.
I tried to run the SanDisk secure data storage app, but it did not authenticate. Additionally, the software is only compatible with SanDisk products.
I would not trust this device for backing up or any activity that involves depending on the data not getting corrupted.
82% were impressed by the capacious storage, but 18% weren't
The storage space is large enough to store many video edits and other files.
Our usable storage size is 115 GB, which is expected, and some of the space is used for our security software.
I have a flash drive with ample storage space of 512GB, which is enough to store my extensive music library.
The flash drive allows me to move a full-length movie in less than 30 seconds with read speeds of up to 130MB/s.
When I transfer a lot of files, the USB flash drive gets very hot and significantly impacts the transfer rates.
89% praised the fast transfer speed, while 11% raised concerns
The transfer speed of the USB flash drive is not consistent. It starts with a high speed of 110MB/s but then drops to 45MB/s for the rest of the transfer.
The write speed was good for the first GB, but dropped to 30MB/sec for the second GB and 15-20MB/sec for the final 2GB.
There is a sharp fall of transfer speed in USB 3.0 mode when I try to write a movie file from my PC to the thumb drive.
Transfer speed is fast at the beginning but slows down after a gigabyte or so.
The keyring loop made of thin plastic breaks after a short time, making it an unattached item in my pocket.
