I have tried various Lightning adapters (including Apples) attempting to utilize regular usb memory sticks with my iPad. With adapter cables, connectivity was terrible and kept disconnecting constantly, or was fickle about being recognized when plugged in. But, this memory stick with its built-in Lightning connector has worked perfectly for me.
