I have tried various Lightning adapters (including Apples) attempting to utilize regular USB memory sticks with my iPad. With adapter cables, connectivity was terrible and kept disconnecting constantly, or was fickle about being recognized when plugged in. But, this memory stick with its built-in Lightning connector has worked perfectly for me.
The USB stick works on all of my Apple products.
I connected the USB flash drive to the computer without any additional software.
The application that works on my phone is not compatible with most US computers.
