About Tripp Lite 750VA UPS Battery Backup Uninterruptible Power Supply Surge Protector
Overall Feedback:
70% positive
73% liked the battery life, but 27% found it didn't last
I switched from APC to Cyber Power because the battery life of APC was too short and replacement batteries were pricey.
The UPS battery life is limited and provides decent protection for only about 18 to 24 months. After that, it's borrowed time and if there's an electric failure, the battery may be insufficient for the load and everything will stop.
I am frustrated with reviewing the product as I have not had a blackout or surge to test the battery life and surge capability of the UPS. I do not want to unplug the UPS from the outlet to test it because it will shorten the battery life.
The battery life is only 5 years due to its composition and it is not available at the local battery store.
I switched from APC to Cyber Power because the battery life of APC was too short and replacement batteries are expensive.
After two years, my battery died and now I am facing the problem of finding a way to replace it or buy a new one.
My unit's battery dies randomly and doesn't announce when it's getting weak.
76% liked the compatibility with multiple devices, but 24% had issues
The UPS is compatible with multiple makes and software, but it is not easy to use.
The product does not support Windows USB HID device monitoring, despite the company's claim.
I warn you not to buy the unit unless you are absolutely sure about your computer's power requirements.
78% appreciated the control features, while 22% found them confusing
The modified UPS I use has a smooth step wave that can run modern flat screen TVs.
I was able to disable the annoying alarm feature with the help of a previous post and the computer cable interface.
81% liked the durable construction, but 19% found it flimsy
The UPS feels sturdy and well-made without being overly heavy, indicating its durable construction.
Since 2013, I have installed the unit and it handles power interrupts and surges quite well.
The UPS is light enough to not break off.
The UPS battery life is not durable and lasts for only 18 to 24 months.
73% praised the high power capacity, while 27% found it insufficient
The output power capacity is not as high as the APC I replaced, but it gives me enough time to shut down my system during a power outage.
The readout of the UPS clearly shows that we are well within the parameters of this unit with a maximum power draw of 267W.
Each station has a total power draw of around 80-100 watts.
For the prior 4 months, power capacity was never an issue. However, suddenly the power just cut off, which is exactly what the product was supposed to prevent.
I turned on a game that used a good bit of power and the uninterruptible power supply (UPS) stopped working. It was plugged into it the entire time.
I compared this UPS with my other UPS units and found that they have more than double the capacity, superior software and support, but cost double the price.
75% appreciated the response time
We have a backup reserve of seventeen minutes before shutting down.
75% found it whisper-quiet
The battery backup runs quietly without any issues of humming or buzzing.
The battery life is ideal for short power interruptions, providing 15-20 minutes of backup. Its great for protecting my devices during brief outages, but I wouldnt rely on it for longer power failures. It performs well for everyday use.
I appreciate the durability and reliability of this UPS, which is backed by a 3-year warranty, providing added assurance of its quality and performance.
The UPS works fine for basic use, but the control features are a bit too basic for my needs. It doesnt have any advanced configuration options or an app to monitor from afar. If you just need something to manage basic power settings and alarms, its fine, but it lacks some flexibility for more demanding users.
