I have used past straw style tumblers with two layer lids that trapped water between the layers and created mold or leaked coffee out of the straw hole. But this straw lid is one piece with a silicone grommet to keep straw in place and prevent leaking.
After using it 5 days a week for 2 years, the lids' seals do not leak.
The tumbler holds coffee without any leaks even after the vacuum seal insulation is probably gone.
With this brand, there is no spillage, which is a major advantage.
