My toast setting is 4.5 and it produces two evenly browned slices.
On #5 setting, it was close to becoming burnt bread but on setting 3, I toasted it great with a low-med color result.

The toaster has a wide range of settings and works well, from barely warmed to almost burnt.
On #5 setting, my bread was close to becoming burnt and I wouldn't use any higher for regular bread. It toasted evenly with exception of the edges.
