On the interior walls, all the red lights are on, but only a small fraction of the red toasting lights are on on the exterior walls.

I loved the toaster at first because it had adjustable browning settings for different types of bread and could toast 4 pieces at separate temperatures but at the same time.
I find that the default number 4 setting for white bread barely toasts it.
