I recommend two settings for the toaster. On 3.5, it is lightly toasted and somewhat soggy, while on 4, it is well-done, slightly burnt, brown color but crunchy.
The browning control knobs have a faint line on the front, making it difficult to see and line up on the desired browning number.
The toaster has a knob adjustment that goes up to 8. I'm not sure what the settings above 3 are intended for.
