The timer is accurate and loud enough to hear from another room, which is a desirable feature.
I gave a 1-star rating because the timer is totally unreliable and it is useless after only 2 weeks of use.
The lefthand keys on the timer are so sensitive that it's almost impossible to advance the setting one digit at a time; it instantly fast-forwards.

I have been using the timer for a year and it is still going strong on the originally provided batteries.
I had to replace the batteries multiple times in the first month of owning the timer, and it did not work within 2 days of replacing the batteries.
My battery ran out in two weeks and it stopped timing, which led to burnt food in the kitchen.
With this timer, I have to replace the battery every two to three months, whereas the old timer only required a new AAA battery every two to three years.

The screen doesn't light up, making it difficult to see in poor lighting. A flashlight is needed to view it.

I have complained that the timer beeps incredibly loud every time I touch it, and if I hold down the button to change numbers fast it goes BEEPBEEPBEEPBEEPBEEPBEEPBEEPBEEP the whole time at ear-splitting volume.
