About UltraPro Honeywell 60-Minute Countdown in-Wall Timer
Overall Feedback:
70% positive
79% appreciated the customization options, although 21% didn't
I have to turn the knob past the indicator arrow to switch on the fan/light.
61% liked its compact design, but 39% thought it was bulky
The product has a metal ring in the plastic twister to protect it from wear and tear.
I find the switch design wider than necessary, making it difficult to install in a smaller old wall box.
I do not like the design of the timer-switches because the screws on the cover plate do not line up with the holes on the timer.
72% found it easy to program, while 28% faced difficulties
With just a quick twist, I can select the exact time delay using the mechanical timer.
Be careful while installing the timer switch as the screw that secures the plate cannot take any pressure. It needs a rectangular opening like the ones for toggle switches.
I do not like that the screws on the cover plate do not align with the holes on the timer.
64% appreciated the remote control, but 36% faced issues
The directions lacked information about hooking up the wires and how it works with the switch plate.
68% praised the safety features, but 32% had concerns
The switch has a safety feature where it can be manually turned off by rotating it counterclockwise. It deactivates immediately but continues ticking for a few seconds.
The timer switch helps me forget about shutting off the bathroom fan by adding 30 minutes to my shower time.
I had a personal experience where the plug in connector caught fire and I had to put it out myself. The flames got half way up the wall. This highlights the need for better safety features in timer-switches.
The timer's faceplate is slightly too big to fit in a standard rocker switch faceplate as advertised, and requires grinding down with a dremel.
