About ENERLITES HET06A-R-W Countdown Timer Switch
Overall Feedback:
84% positive
75% liked the compatibility
I am using the timer switch as a bath fan timer and the discrete time intervals are ideal for my application.
The installation was fairly easy and the wires are color-coded the same as in the switch box.
My solution for those who don't have neutral wires is to connect the white and green wires together and wire nut them to the ground wire in the box, black wire to hot, and red wire to the white wire.
72% liked its compact design, but 28% thought it was bulky
The LED indicators are very bright.
The blue lights on the timer switch make a good nightlight for those middle-of-the-night toilet trips.
There is no way to throttle it back or turn it off if I don't want bright blue light in the bathroom at 3am.
80% found it easy to program
I find the timer switch easy to use. The steps to alter the time while the fan is already running and how to stop the fan were also mentioned. Overall, I am satisfied with the product.
61% appreciated the remote control
I can turn on the fan by directly pressing the desired time button, indicating that the timer switch has a remote control feature.
I can turn on the switch by pressing and holding the main button for a couple of seconds. The fan will stay on until I press the large button again to turn it off.
If you want a regular fully on state, just press and hold the big button for a few seconds. Also, press the big button to turn off.
I can control the switch remotely by pressing the button for the desired time and it will turn off the fan automatically.
61% praised the safety features, but 39% had concerns
I can leave the fan running when I leave the bathroom without worrying about it staying on too long and affecting the temperature of my home.
The blue lights on the timer switch make a good nightlight for middle-of-the-night toilet trips.
The bright blue LEDs of the product disturb me while sleeping, so I have to shut the bathroom door next to my bedroom.
I suggest grounding the switch by using a multimeter to confirm the electrical box is grounded and then attaching the ground wire to it from the switch lead.
Replacing it was easy because the electrical box had neutral wiring and a ground, which an electronic timer needs but a mechanical timer doesn't.
