About J-B Weld 50132 PlasticWeld Quick-Setting Epoxy Syringe
Overall Feedback:
81% positive
77% praised the adhesive strength, while 23% faced issues
After application, the surface of the epoxy was tacky for about 5 days, but it became very strong.
The adhesive strength is horrible and it peels off easily.
The adhesive I used did not bond or weld with the plastic I was repairing and never cured, remaining flexible and rubbery.
The product has poor bonding strength compared to Loctite superglue, which has three times the bonding strength.
68% appreciated the fast drying time, but 32% desired more
The set time is around 30 minutes and the full cure time is around 5-7 days.
I cleaned the area, sanded the pieces, cleaned again, let it dry for 24 hours, mixed epoxy, glued pieces, waited for 36 hours, but it still came apart with minimal test of flexing the glue joint. (Note: Since the sentence is already in first person, step 1 is not applicable)
I applied tile-epoxy-adhesives and let it cure for 5 hours at 75F because I had applied it somewhat thick. However, after 5 hours it fell right apart under weight.
The glue did not set for at least 5 minutes and even after 2 hours, it was still soft and could be deformed.
It takes a long time to cure fully and remains soft even after 2 weeks of setting.
77% found it easy to use, but 23% struggled
I have found this adhesive to be effective as it has not broken again for months after using it.
The adhesive broke the tabs on the toilet overflow tube, causing water leaks. It is not recommended for important applications that require actual epoxy strength.
The glue did not set for at least 5 minutes and even after an hour, it could still be deformed. After 2 hours, it remained soft.
71% liked the flexibility, but 29% experienced cracking
I noticed that the adhesive did not bond or weld with the plastic and it remained flexible and rubbery.
The adhesive remained flexible and rubbery, not bonding or welding with the plastic.
I used the adhesive on my bike's brushless geared hub motor and gave it a good thrashing to ensure it wouldn't fail again. It still hasn't failed.
