About MOOZICA 21 Keys Solid Koa Kalimba Thumb Piano
Overall Feedback:
91% positive
92% appreciated the solid construction
The wood feels great in my hands with a smooth finish and natural grains on display.
The wood is nicely polished and the tine assembly feels properly tightened.
91% liked its stylish and modern design, while 9% found it dull and uninspired
The design and aesthetic of the thumb-piano feels like a miniature violin or cello, which was a major factor in my decision to choose it over a different option.
The finish of the instrument looks great, but it's a little slippery in my hands.
Having just a clean logo graph without also writing out the brand name would have been much classier aesthetically.
96% found it easy to play, but 4% had trouble navigating the keys
The tines are uniform and easy to pluck with smooth top and sides, making glissandos easy to play. They are also engraved with both letters and numbers, and don't feel sharp like on cheaper kalimbas.
It takes time to learn how to play and is more complicated than expected.
91% liked its compact and lightweight design
The instrument is not uncomfortable to hold for a long period of time, even though it is heavier than a kalimba with a sound hole.
92% praised the clear and rich sound, while 8% found it tinny
The sound quality of my kalimba is dreamy and ethereal, possibly due to the wood and solid body.
I love the sweet sound of the solid slab of wood on the karimba, even though it's heavier than the hollow-bodied ones and a little less loud.
I found the sound quality smaller than expected, so I considered purchasing a kalimba that can be connected to an amplifier.
Some of the higher notes sound muffled.
89% praised its tuning stability, though 11% experienced frequent tuning issues
The space to store the tuning hammer is not deep enough, causing it to rub against the Kalimba and cause damage.
The thumb-piano has a sizable wood sound box that amplifies the sounds.
