I found it easy to apply the thread-lock-sealers to the screw threads and adjust the tension. Letting it sit overnight to set worked well for me.
This thread-lock-sealer keeps screws and bolts from vibrating loose on quads and is easier to remove than blue, especially on ZMR 250 type frames with the aluminum stand offs for the upper plate.
