I found that the carafe retains heat exceptionally well, even after 18 hours of coffee being kept in it. It's the best heat retention I've seen.
When pre-heated with boiling water for 10 minutes, the carafe has great heat retention.
I filled the carafe with hot water and let it sit for a few minutes to warm up the interior. Then, I made a pot of coffee in my french press and quickly poured it into the carafe. The coffee thermometer said that the coffee going into the carafe was 187 degrees.
