I love the tattoo pen as it is super easy to use, especially for line work. It allows me to easily create my own art style.
The tattoo-kit I have is the most comfortable machine I have ever held. It fits in my hand like a giant marker and the smoothness of it is astounding. The sound is minimal and it is much easier on the skin.

The machine pen is heavy and difficult to hold without wanting to scoot down and hold it by the needle cartridge.
After using it a couple of times, the threads to adjust needle depth are not as tight and the needle also does not retract.
I am not able to adjust the needle length without it popping out, but the machine is still great.
