When the batteries are low and there is no backup set, the flashlight warns by not going into the brighter modes.
I like the 'firefly' mode of the flashlight as it allows me to read at night without a bright light and its bright setting is easy to change.
I recommend using the firefly mode of the flashlight. It provides just enough light to navigate by without disturbing your partner at night.
I can activate the flashlight's separate intermediate mode by pressing the rear button while turning on the light.

The flashlight is versatile for various situations with its four different brightness levels.
The flashlight has four levels of brightness and the highest level is very bright.
The best feature of this flashlight is its selectable brightness levels. At the low end, it provides just enough light to see something close up in the dark without lighting up the general area, and at the top end brightness, I get a Wow! reaction.
I find the flashlight's low and middle brightness settings not powerful enough, despite having 3 brightness settings and a 4th strobe mode.
