I discovered that the flashlight can be programmed in 3 different ways: high/strobe/low (default), high only and low/high.
The switch is a little harder to press due to its recessed design, but it also helps prevent accidental pressing.
To switch through the modes, I have to click 9 times to change the cycle than hold.
I found that the switch was 'mushy' and couldn't engage the low light mode.

I used the flashlight on a 2 hour tunnel walk and it worked fine, sometimes on the lower brightness setting.
I suggest not going any brighter than this one if you are primarily using it for home defense.
