About Nitecore P20iX 4000 Lumen USB-C Rechargeable Tactical Flashlight
Overall Feedback:
83% positive
84% highlighted the modes and functions
The flashlight has a secondary switch for toggling modes, strobe option, and memory of the last mode. It is practically perfect.
The Turbo Mode is designed for short bursts of high output light. It can't sustain such brightness for more than 30 seconds depending on the temperature. Due to the small size, it has limited heat dissipation. The LEDs and circuitry get scorching hot within seconds of powering on the turbo function. The P20iX has built-in heat protection to prevent damage to the flashlight and injury to the operator. After 30 seconds, the flashlight gradually reduces power to prevent damage.
I compared the functionality of the P20iX and SRT7GT flashlights. The P20iX is more akin to a floodlight and not a spotlight due to its packaging of four LEDs in a small head and shallow reflectors, which can't throw light as far as a flashlight with a large head and deep reflector. It is designed to be a super bright flood-style everyday light for use at relatively short distances that covers a vast area. On the other hand, the SRT7GT is designed to be a bright throw-style light used to provide more focused light over a longer distance.
To use the 4000 Lumens in 'Daily' mode, I need to turn on the flashlight and hold down the flat 'Mode' button on the tail cap. The highest brightness in Daily mode without holding the button down is 1700 Lumens.
I have noticed that the flashlight's 'Daily' mode cycles through the following brightness levels in the following order: Ultra Low 2 Lumen / Low 50 Lumen / Mid 300 Lumen / High 850 Lumen / Higher 1700 Lumen / Turbo* 4000 lumen.
The flashlight's 'Daily' mode has brightness levels that cycle through in the following order: Ultra Low 2 Lumen / Low 50 Lumen / Mid 300 Lumen / High 850 Lumen / Higher 1700 Lumen / Turbo* 4000 lumen.
The flashlight's 'Daily' mode remembers previous brightness levels and 'Tactical' mode always turns on in 'Turbo Mode'.
I have a flashlight with two control schemes - 'Daily' and 'Tactical'. It is set to 'Daily' mode by default.
79% liked the brightness levels
I noticed that the flashlight has 6 brightness levels and I can mention the specific brightness levels.
The flashlight has 6 brightness levels, including specific ones.
I like the many levels of brightness, including the lowest that is perfect around the house when I don't need a searchlight and I don't want to blind myself or others.
I prefer to start on a moonlight to avoid blinding or shocking myself. The distribution between the 5 levels is exactly how I like it. Based on my experience, I can say that.
82% appreciated the beam distance
The flashlight has a maximum throw distance of 221 meters and a maximum peak beam intensity of 12,200cd.
73% were satisfied with the battery life, but 27% raised concerns
I can get a few days, if not a week or more, out of each battery charge if I leave it on one of those 2 settings.
The battery life is impressive, lasting for 7-10 nights on high usage of 5-10 minutes each night when I take my dog outside.
My flashlight battery drains even when not in use and it only lasts for a couple of weeks.
The pad has a dedicated on/off switch and 3 momentary buttons.
