About Kreg KMM1000LZ - Kreg Magnetic Stud Finder with Laser-Mark
91% found it to be highly accurate in detecting studs, but 9% experienced some errors
I used the product with an actual stud finder and the classic 'wall knock' to ensure that it was finding a stud and not just a rogue nail.
If the screw is not centered in the stud, I won't know where the stud edges are.
I have noticed that the magnets in this stud finder have a harder time finding studs than previous ones I have used.
75% found the battery life to be sufficient for my needs, but 25% experienced frequent draining
The idea behind this device is not new - you sweep a magnet over the wall until you find a screw attaching the drywall to the studs.
I noticed that the tool falls off the wall easily and the battery door pops open, causing the batteries to fall out. This indicates that the battery life is not good. If I drop the device from 3 inches off the ground, the batteries fall out.
86% appreciated the clear and easy-to-read screen display
In stick framed houses, the stud finder picks up screws effectively and works really well.
88% found it to be built with durable materials, while 12% experienced issues with fragility

I don't think the tool will last long on the job.

91% appreciated its user-friendly interface, while 9% found it confusing
I find the laser function of the stud finder cool and useful as it provides an easy straight line to follow and eliminates the need for a T-Square.
The hardest part of using the unit is finding a screw location. The magnets need to pass over a screw location before knowing where the stud is likely to be.
The device is difficult to use as the batteries fall out even from a small height, the battery cover is loose and needs a screw to hold it on, and the magnets struggle to find studs compared to previous models.
