What users have to say about Marcy Olympic Weight Bench for Full-Body Workout MD-857
I keep an eye on the welds, but Assembly is not really a concern for me, it was probably a couple hours and easy enough to do by myself.
I got this bench for my birthday from my wife and I can't believe how versatile it is. I am a big man and can do almost anything on it.
The bench/squat has a 300 pound weight limit, which is a bit limiting, and it swayed a little bit, but it wasn't going to fall apart or anything, at first it seemed like a big negative.
The instructions are very clear and easy to follow, plus the PROS, Squat rack, preacher curl, military press setting, and leg exercises are all a bonus, this was more than I was looking for in an olympic sized bench.
The Olympic plugs are not included in the unit, so don't put them on the weight holders during installation.
Is the bench stable?
I weight about 290 and press close to 250 lbs on this bench and it's scary, I've bent the bar that supports your back and it makes a loud popping noise if you are doing 225 and under, but once you go up in the weight, it's fine.
Is it possible to do a flat bench press other than incline press?
The bench can be laid flat, inclines and declines depending on your needs.
Is the reverse squats section suitable for a person that is 6' tall?
I'm 6 feet and it works well for me, I usually have to put the back rest all the way down to make room.
Will it be on a 6'x6' mat?
The width will fit but the length exceeds the 6ft long mat. The weight bar's assembled dimensions are L. 83" x W. 47".
I need to know if the outer width of the towers is less because of my bar that is 46" from the inside to the other.
The clearance between the uprights and the weight plates is narrow, but it works for me, and I've since attached a spring clip to the shoulder of the bar which adds a nice space between the plates.
