I have personally experienced that the device has a hard wire internet plug, which eliminates the need for wireless connectivity like the express.
I have a solution for when the picture freezes or cuts out.

When I use headphones, the remote goes through AA batteries very quickly, which is quite surprising.
The remote control selects the back button 2-3 times in a row once an hour or so, making movie watching tedious.
I can turn off the television with the remote control, but there is no way to turn off the Roku without unplugging it.
After shutting off, the unit turns back on after 5 minutes at will and not consistently.

I prefer ethernet connections over WiFi for streaming. I can watch 4K movies without buffering, but my download speed is just 80 Mbps in a household where everyone constantly streams over phones and tablets.
The tablet is frustratingly slow to load the guide even after watching several channels. I won't give Xfinity more money for another set top box when there are alternatives available.
