About Roku Streambar | 4K/HD/HDR Streaming Media Player & Premium Audio
Overall Feedback:
77% positive
67% appreciated the connectivity options, but 33% wished more
I was surprised that there was no ethernet connection option, but it worked smoothly just over WiFi and better than my connected devices.
The connectivity of the streambar is not great, usually ranging around 60 Mbps. Compared to my 2 year old Roku ultra, which has better wireless connectivity at 88-91 Mbps.
I faced difficulty connecting the streaming media player using Bluetooth and USB port. I had to go through the settings multiple times to find the option for Wireless Headphones. However, I was able to connect both my Tozo T6 earbuds and Bose wireless headphones, which work very nicely.
Connectivity on some models hijacks TV controls and doesn't allow other systems to operate, making it useless.
70% liked the remote control, but 30% didn't
The remote control battery compartment is poorly designed and it's difficult to fit the battery in, especially if I have big hands.
The remote control is an older model and does not allow for personal programming.
I am disappointed with the remote control of the streaming-media-player as there is no way to control the volume with it.
The remote control has a ding as there is no option to change default items.
72% praised the streaming options
All the apps worked perfectly at home.
72% liked the intuitive user interface, but 28% found it cluttered
The interface of the streaming media player is much better and more responsive compared to the 2014 version.
I had to adjust the TV remote for the IR sensor to make any changes, such as volume, to the TV.
The interface is slow.
The soundbar has 1 GB of RAM, but it feels sluggish compared to my 7-year-old Roku 3 with 512 GB of RAM.
I upgraded my streaming experience from a Smart TV to a Roku because the Smart TV had weak WiFi connectivity. However, the Roku worked well for the first few days and then I started having problems.
I connected to the 5Ghz band of my dual-band router and it worked perfectly. The bandwidth is wider but the signal distance is shorter.
