I connected to the device and everything is working fine now.
I connected the Roku express to my Samsung TV via the optical port after unplugging my cable service.
I found that compatibility can be a challenge with how I use it. I was able to use it with a 4K monitor and Yamaha sound bar, but some functions on the remote don't work in certain configurations/connections.
I would like the device to remember my last setting, such as the channel I was watching.

Roku allows me to choose the apps I want, with large and front and center options. The ads are small and unobtrusive, without forcing self-promotional content on me.
I wish the device could recall my last setting. I have to go to home first, select an item (ie Netflix), and then select the program.

I have faced an issue with the video quality of the streaming media player. When searching for a program or actor, everything comes up as unavailable, even for current programming.
