About Amazon Introducing Fire TV Stick 4K Max streaming device
Overall Feedback:
75% positive
68% appreciated the connectivity options
The device connects to my Wifi6 Mesh network in Wifi6 mode.
66% liked the remote control, but 34% didn't
I am happy with the stunning remote control. Everything so far has exceeded my expectations. I can use voice commands to search through Netflix and easily open apps like Netflix, Disney, and Prime. However, my only concern is that the buttons and the case of the control feel a little bit weak (made of plastic) and it makes a little cracking noise when pushing the buttons. I feel that it is cheap.
The remote is fantastic with all necessary buttons and no important functions left out.
I noticed that the remote control worked only for a few hours due to a factory defect.
I dislike the remote control of the device as it is small, cheaply made and hard to hold and push certain buttons.
My main issue is with the remote control of the streaming media player. I have used numerous Fire TV devices over the years and noticed that Amazon makes each version of the remote cheaper and lower quality in terms of look and feel. The remote on this one is pretty bad.
The remote control is defective and it's not the batteries.
I have noticed that the remote has poor battery life, consuming 3 sets of batteries in just one week.
69% praised the streaming options, but 31% didn't
I have alternative streaming options built into my television(s) but still find myself gravitating towards Amazon.
There are severe limitations on the available apps.
I suggest using a streaming device that allows us to have the apps we want and does not run forced apps.
I have faced intermittent streaming delays while using the device, indicating my personal experience.
67% liked the intuitive user interface, but 33% found it cluttered
I like the user interface of the streaming media player. It has a 'physics' kind of quality where while holding down the left or right buttons and scrolling through titles the selection with move quickly and then when the button is released the cursor will gradually slow down and pass over two or three titles before settling on the last.
It took me some time to get used to the interface since I came from the Roku world.
The interface has improved but is still far from the clean and simple Roku interface.
The interface is cluttered with ads, making it difficult to access the streaming apps.
I am frustrated with the Fire TV Stick 4K Max interface. It takes a long time to load and the giant movie posters for every single click are unnecessary. I wish to be able to scroll through pages instead of having to click on each show individually.
68% appreciated the video quality, though 32% experienced issues
When I watch through the Firestick, the video quality is lower than it would otherwise be.
70% found the voice control convenient
The voice command is very responsive and sensitive. I even tried whispering commands and it understood me.
I can use voice command to search through Netflix.
The device offers lightning-fast connectivity and improved network performance with support for Wi-Fi 6E technology, ensuring smooth and uninterrupted streaming of our favorite movies, shows, and live TV.
I faced issues with the remote of one of the tablets. It went through a set of batteries every 24 hours and one set the remote wont connect at all.
