About Shark IX141 Impact Cordless Stick Vacuum
Overall Feedback:
77% positive
69% appreciated the weight and maneuverability
While vacuuming, I noticed that the Shark vacuum feels heavy in my hand, but it has a large dust cup and a powerful motor, making the extra weight worth it. It is also easy to push and glides smoothly over floors.
74% found it versatile on various surfaces
It's easy to clean multiple surfaces without switching devices.
This vacuum is great for quick vacuuming around the dining table, stairs, and crevices.
71% appreciated the noise level, but 29% found it too loud
I am disappointed with the suction power of the stick vacuum. It was very quiet when I turned it on for the first time.
71% liked the dustbin capacity, although 29% didn't
The dust cup volume is very small and it continues to make noise while vacuuming. The roller is not moving and the dust cup is full.
61% liked the filtration system, yet 39% experienced issues
I have noticed a flap underneath that traps debris, but it just pushes it around until I get the suction right on top. This indicates that the filtration system is not working properly.
65% liked the attachments and accessories, although 35% disliked
It would be helpful to have an option to mount the vacuum on the wall, even if it has to be purchased separately.
I unpacked and put the unit together but the brush roller attachment still wasn't working.
73% were satisfied with the battery life, nevertheless, 27% weren't
The estimated battery life is good and there is a clear 4-segment LED indicator to let me know when the battery is getting low.
I tested three different cordless stick vacuums and found that Shark Pet IX141 had the longest battery life at 27 minutes, while Bissell Powerlifter 3789X lasted for 18 minutes and Black & Decker Powerseries Max lasted for 13 minutes.
The battery life of the vacuum was great initially, but after 6 months, it lasted only 30 minutes, and after a year, it has come down to 10 minutes. I am lucky if I can finish the kitchen and living room in one charge.
I would have to break up my cleaning into sessions if I rely on it to clean a whole house.
I underestimated how much I could clean in 40 minutes, even though I knew the battery life.
78% liked the suction power, but 22% found it lacking
For max suction, I need to hold the button down on the vacuum which has 2 strengths of suction.
I found that the suction power was barely adequate and suspected that there was some packing material blocking it.
I have to hold the button down for extra powerful suction, which is a little annoying.
I compared the suction power of this stick-vacuum-electric-broom with my old one and found that with my old one, the carpet was visibly vacuumed and standing up. But with this one, I couldn’t even see or feel that the carpet had been vacuumed.
While vacuuming, I noticed that the Shark vacuum feels heavy in my hand, but it has a large dust cup and a powerful motor, making the extra weight worth it. It is also easy to push and glides smoothly over floors.
The vacuum works well on wood, carpet, high pile shags, and flat accent rugs. The floor feature is the best as it gets close to edges, cleaning every bit of the baseboard.
I returned the vacuum because it made a strange whirring sound while vacuuming carpet, indicating that it was loud during operation.
