The stereo-receiver displays a black bar indicating which input channel is selected with every instruction sent to the receiver or connected BD/DVD player.
I found the on-screen interface to be only fair and typical Sony design. Most settings can only be accessed through the small front panel display on the receiver in combination with the remote control.
Switching back and forth is tedious as there is no one button option and automatic switching is not available.

I compared the sound quality of Sony receiver and Yamaha TSR-7850 and found the latter to be superior.
After using the auto-setup, I found that the center channel was too quiet and even after boosting it, the dialogue still sounded muddy.
