About Pioneer Elite VSX-LX105 7.2 Channel Network AV Receiver
Overall Feedback:
89% positive
91% highlighted the user interface, but 9% didn't
I spent weeks figuring out that the internal EQ has 3 settings and it was on the wrong one. I don't know why there are 3 settings.
I am disappointed with the lackluster or non-existent functionality, ability to customize labels, and sound settings of the stereo-receiver in comparison to others.
70% were impressed with the power output, but 30% weren't
After manually setting up my speakers and changing the ohms, the stereo-receiver started to respond beautifully and fill the entire house.
My old Yamaha stereo-receiver put out 90 watts a channel and sounded great with my large Cerwin Vega speakers.
90% were satisfied with the connectivity options, but 10% weren't
Bluetooth connectivity is not stable and is very dependent on how I feel about it. Sometimes it connects and is stable, other times it feels like it just can't be bothered.
93% found it compatible.
The stereo-receiver works with apps like Stream What you Hear (PC) and MediaMonkey (Android), even though it is not certified.
95% were satisfied with the build quality and durability, but 5% weren't
I am disappointed with the quality and workmanship of the product. I long for the days when quality and pride in workmanship were important.
I am dissatisfied with the user manual of the Pioneer Stereo Receiver VSX-534. It appears to have been written by techs who are trying to impress their peers with how complicated they can make it.
I compared the sound quality of Onkyo and Denon stereo-receivers. Onkyo has a brighter upper midrange/lower treble sound, but its lower midrange and bass are not as sharp and clear as Denon's, despite having 20 extra watts. I had to tone down the sound using the unit's audio equalizer, but it didn't fix the problem well.
