Overall Feedback:
87% positive
84% highlighted the user interface, but 16% didn't
I am frustrated with the user interface of the stereo-receiver. It should be a no-brainer plug and play, but instead, it seems designed to force paying their professionals to do it for you.
91% found the sound quality exceptional.
The sound quality of this stereo-receiver is strong on my speakers with a sweet spot around 55 to 60 volume wise. Its output shines with a very rewarding Dolby Atmos sound.
The sound quality of this receiver is better than my previous 4K Onkyo receiver, possibly due to the Dirac Live calibration.
79% were impressed with the power output, but 21% weren't
It upped the game in terms of features and viewing. The stereo-receiver is powerful enough to shake the room.
The stereo-receiver starts a High Temp power drop within minutes of turning on, even though the power is well within tolerance.
81% were satisfied with the connectivity options, but 19% weren't
I purchased this stereo-receiver to eliminate the need for individual HDMI cables to the TV for the game consoles, bypassing the 525 due to the lack of HDMI 2.1.
The stereo receiver works fine with other devices like Xbox series X, a 65' LG 4K 3D TV, and a Samsung 4K 3D DVD player, but it is not working with the cable box. The company doesn't know, doesn't care, and refuses to help figure out the issue.
74% found it compatible, but 26% didn't
I purchased this stereo-receiver to eliminate the need for individual HDMI cables to the TV for the game consoles, bypassing the previous model due to the lack of HDMI 2.1 compatibility.
I faced issues with the receiver as it could not consistently pass through 8k or 4k120 signals to my TV.
I am frustrated with the user interface of the stereo-receiver. It should be a no-brainer plug and play, but instead, it seems designed to force paying their professionals to do it for you.
I am disappointed with the sound quality of the stereo-receiver. It sounds weak and boring compared to my 40W NAD from the 80s which sounds 5x more powerful.
I compared the sound quality of Onkyo and Denon stereo-receivers. Onkyo has a brighter upper midrange/lower treble sound, but its lower midrange and bass are not as sharp and clear as Denon's, despite having 20 extra watts. I had to tone down the sound using the unit's audio equalizer, but it didn't fix the problem well.
