About Onkyo TX-NR595 Home Audio Smart Audio and Video Receiver
Overall Feedback:

The stereo-receiver is a great modular unit that delivers clean sound with a fine degree of control. It is easy to set up and can be used with various devices like TV, computer, streaming device, etc.
I appreciated being able to rename inputs and display them with custom names on both the unit and TV.
Once I finished the setup, I made the controls my own with custom names and functions. They are intuitive and programmable.
77% were impressed with the power output, but 23% weren't
The power output of the stereo-receiver is not as advertised. Onkyo, like many other consumer-level receiver manufacturers, posts very misleading numbers.
69% found it compatible.
The stereo-receiver is a great centerpiece for a home theater with compatibility for various devices like network capabilities, powered second zone, airplay 2 and Atmos, without spending a lot of money.

I found the setup of the stereo-receiver easy and appreciated the speaker outputs accepting banana plugs, the subwoofer output, and labeled RCA inputs.
I compared the sound quality of Onkyo and Denon stereo-receivers. Onkyo has a brighter upper midrange/lower treble sound, but its lower midrange and bass are not as sharp and clear as Denon's, despite having 20 extra watts. I had to tone down the sound using the unit's audio equalizer, but it didn't fix the problem well.
The Onkyo model doesn't like being shutdown by a blackout, even though it goes through a top-rated surge protector. The power loss doesn't affect the unit's performance, but it does require resetting to factory settings to pass audio signals again.
