About Marantz 8K Ultra HD AV Receiver SR5015 - 7.2 Channel
Overall Feedback:
97% positive
93% were satisfied with the connectivity options
I have experienced that the receiver has a phono input for turntable, HDMI i/o for Blu-Ray players, gaming consoles, etc. and can take dedicated CD player with a coax or optical interface.
84% highlighted the user interface
The remote is essential for selecting sound output and the receiver remembers the last setting for each input.
96% found the sound quality exceptional.
I have never experienced such sound and picture quality on my Sony Bravia 4K TV until now with the new SR 7015 AVR.
I am extremely satisfied with the sound quality of my stereo-receiver and have noticed that the more power it has, the better the sound quality.
92% were impressed with the power output
The integrated amp on the receiver side leaves power for the side and ride surrounds, 4 height speakers, and two active subs.
82% were impressed with the multi-room capability
I have experienced an improvement in sound quality with this unit when using it with my Emotiva 5 channel amp to drive my front L-C-R channels. The dialogue is now super crisp.
I have experienced the multi-room capability and 12.1 playback of the stereo-receiver. One of the subwoofer outs can be used to create a voice of god channel directly overhead.
88% found it compatible, but 12% didn't
I had to upgrade to SR-7015 to handle the 11.2 surround with Dolby Atmos capable Golden Ear front height and ceiling speakers and an 80' Sony Bravia.
The receiver is future proof with various interfaces on the back, making it compatible with various devices.
I faced compatibility issues with the stereo-receiver as I could not get the Blu-Ray and DVD input channels to accept signal, but the UHD input and the Cable input worked.
I have experienced that the receiver has a phono input for turntable, HDMI i/o for Blu-Ray players, gaming consoles, etc. and can take dedicated CD player with a coax or optical interface.
I purchased a Marantz NR1403 AV Receiver in 2014 to pair with a set of KEF towers I received as a gift. It worked very well, but was not able to connect to my home network. So, I decided to upgrade with pretty much the exact same thing as I was happy with the NR1403, but with the ability to hook into the home network via LAN or WiFi.
I upgraded from a low-end Yamaha 7.1 receiver to add more height channels to my home theater. I am happy with the upgrade as the object-based audio model Denon/Marantz use is a lot better than the Yamaha implementation and Audyssey MultEQ XT32 does a better job of room calibration. Movies sound much better now, even though I am using the same speakers as before.
I find the menus to be not user-friendly, the display to be small and not informative, and adjusting EQ is impossible without disabling some of the Audessy features. This shows my negative feedback with respect to the user interface of stereo-receivers.
