About Denon AVR-S770H 7.2 Ch Home Theater Receiver
Overall Feedback:
88% positive

I found the on TV screen set up to be helpful in setting up the stereo-receiver, making it easy to use and understand.
I found the quick select buttons of the stereo-receiver great, as they allow me to save the audio settings as four different presets.
I was disappointed with the remote control as the buttons sometimes required more than one depression to work. Using the phone/tablet app worked much better, although there were some slow responses during key depressions which could be due to the internet link between the apps and the receiver.
86% found the sound quality exceptional.
I compared the sound quality of this stereo-receiver with my previous one and it's really close.
87% were impressed with the power output
The power output of this stereo-receiver is sufficient for an average home theater. I paired it with my 150 inch projection setup and the power output was strong enough to shake the walls of the house and be heard inside my neighbor's house.
73% were satisfied with the connectivity options
I have a stereo-receiver that automatically switches off the speaker system when a Bluetooth headset is connected and switches back when disconnected. It also allows running both the Bluetooth transmitter and the speakers simultaneously.
78% found it compatible, but 22% didn't
I had to return the product due to issues with HDMI 2.1 in this line, despite reviews all saying this is fixed now, or I got a defective unit. I replaced it with an Onkyo TX-NR6050 which is working flawlessly.
81% were satisfied with the build quality and durability, but 19% weren't
The main heat sink for the power amplifiers seems undersized for a unit with this much power, and I noticed that the Denon runs pretty warm as a result.
I upgraded from a low-end Yamaha 7.1 receiver to add more height channels to my home theater. I am happy with the upgrade as the object-based audio model Denon/Marantz use is a lot better than the Yamaha implementation and Audyssey MultEQ XT32 does a better job of room calibration. Movies sound much better now, even though I am using the same speakers as before.
The 2800H has enough power output to bring music to life in my listening position, bump it to my kitchen two rooms over, or watch at theater-level volume in my medium-sized living room with 8-foot ceilings.
The manual setup screens are not very intuitive and require a lot of clicking around to complete the full setup.
