About Denon AVR-S570BT 5.2 Channel AV Receiver
Overall Feedback:
85% positive
87% found the sound quality exceptional.
I love the sound quality of my new Denon AVRS970H receiver. It's much better than my older Onkyo TXSR444 receiver.
73% found it compatible, but 27% didn't
I was able to get Dolby Atmos to work flawlessly on my Apple TV Player. Many films, TV shows, and music show the Dolby Atmos logo on multiple streaming apps on the Apple TV Player. The Dolby Atmos signal is finally being outputted from my Apple TV to the receiver in order for the input signal to say Dolby Atmos then passes through the 4K HDR/Dolby Vision video signals from the receiver to the TV in very good sync.
I had a Yamaha S301 set up with a Schiit converter which handled my tuner, Roku 3 (for USB music) and Sonos (thru the Sonos Connect). I was intrigued by bluetooth capability, Internet, etc which the AVR has but my Yamaha does not.
I have used one remote for all my components including a Sony TV and Yamaha receiver for the last 10+ years. However, the CEC function of using my 1 Roku remote for all my components including Sony TV, Sony Blue Ray, Roku and new Denon receiver would not work. I needed an upgrade of my AVR due to outdated tech.
I faced issues getting virtual surround to work with my fire tv cube. It seems to be a combination of Denon weirdness and the audio formats the fire tv supports.
75% highlighted the user interface, but 25% didn't
The naming of the UI is terrible and I wasted hours on it. I shouldn't have chosen 8k if I'm not going to output to an 8k display.
66% were satisfied with the connectivity options, but 34% weren't
If I want to listen to music on Spotify or a YouTube video, I won't get sound from my rear or even center channel.
I upgraded from a low-end Yamaha 7.1 receiver to add more height channels to my home theater. I am happy with the upgrade as the object-based audio model Denon/Marantz use is a lot better than the Yamaha implementation and Audyssey MultEQ XT32 does a better job of room calibration. Movies sound much better now, even though I am using the same speakers as before.
