About Panasonic Dry and Steam Iron with Alumite Soleplate
Overall Feedback:
68% positive
80% were impressed with water tank capacity, while 20% weren't
It was difficult to determine the amount of water available due to the dark purple water reservoir.
The water reservoir is too shallow. I can only get one shirt done and the collar of another before needing to refill.
77% found the temperature control helpful, yet 23% faced problems
The thermostat operating indicator light stays lit while the iron heats up and goes dark when it's ready. It takes less than two minutes from cold to ready using the hottest heat & steam setting.
I don't think I will break the temperature knob, but it feels cheap when twisting.
Adjusting the heat dial is awkward and there is no on/off light to indicate when the iron is hot.
I do not like the temperature control knob as it is easy to accidentally change the temperature to an undesired level.
81% liked the steam output
At the highest setting, I find the steam sufficient but it needs frequent refilling.
I compared the steam output of Panasonic and Rowenta and found that Panasonic produces more steam at its low setting than Rowenta at its high setting.
With the Panasonic iron, I can control the steam output by pressing the button quickly for a massive jolt of consistent steam or slowly for a steady flow of less steam.
84% liked the steam burst function, although 16% encountered issues
The steam setting varies from light to super heavy-duty. The heavy-duty steam feels like giving a facial while ironing.
I found the vertical steam function very useful for removing wrinkles from delicate fabrics like wools and silks that are difficult to iron.
The steam iron quickly removes wrinkles with its large amount of steam.
I have a great iron with steam capabilities both horizontally and vertically.
Once the water reaches the bottom of the tank, the steam becomes less powerful, possibly due to the steam burst function of the steam-iron.
65% found the design lightweight
The weight of the iron is perfect for pressing and getting out wrinkles faster.
I find the iron easy to maneuver with its long, swivel cord despite its weight in the hand.
70% appreciated the auto shut-off, whereas 30% raised concerns
The steam-iron never fails to shut off, unlike the top of the line Rowenta it replaced.
The auto-off feature is pretty responsive, but not enough to completely shut down the iron. It's nice if I want to come back to ironing after a few minutes.
I do not like that the iron cuts off when left plugged in and needs to be unplugged and plugged back in to use again due to the auto shut-off feature.
74% appreciated the anti-drip feature
I have noticed that this iron does not drip water on the fabric while ironing, unlike my old one.
I appreciate the anti-drip system of the iron, which has prevented any leakage issues. This feature works better than cheaper models.
I noticed that the iron uses a lot of water, almost half a tank to steam iron one shirt. However, very little steam comes out of the vents.
