About BLACK+DECKER IR1350S with Extra Large Soleplate
Overall Feedback:
70% positive
72% were impressed with water tank capacity, while 28% weren't
I noticed that the iron uses a lot of water, almost half a tank to steam iron one shirt. However, very little steam comes out of the vents.

When I put a full tank of water in the iron, it came out of the bottom through various cracks and crevices including the power cord.
I found it almost impossible to see the water level in the chamber.
67% found the temperature control helpful, yet 33% faced problems
As long as I set the temperature in the correct range and point the sole plate down, the steam will be dispensed constantly.
I measured the temperature of the iron on the highest setting. The center measured 158F and the tip and bottom both measured around 138F.
I am dissatisfied with the temperature control of my steam-iron. Even on the highest setting, it doesn't get very hot and only heats up to a temperature that my old iron did at just over the half-way setting, not even close to the highest Cotton/Linen setting of my old iron.
74% liked the steam output, however 26% didn't
I was disappointed to find that there are fewer steam vents than I expected. I prefer more vents for a better press.
79% found the design lightweight
I find the steam iron rather big but not heavy. This is because I have small hands and get tired of ironing all laundry after a while.
I find the iron to be just the right weight at 3 lbs and not too heavy for the job.
The iron is lightweight and flattens wrinkles without much effort.
I have an iron that is lightweight and has a generous 10 ft. cord.
I chose this iron because it is relatively lightweight at 2-1/2 lbs and heats and steams well.
74% appreciated the auto shut-off
After the automatic shut down is activated, it only takes a slight movement of the iron to get the heat back on within seconds to iron the next piece of fabric sewn.

This iron has an Auto Shut-Off mode for safety. It stops heating after being left inactive for 30 seconds on its side or soleplate, and 8 minutes after being left on the heel rest. The red indicator light blinks when it is in Auto Shut-Off mode. Moving the iron will cause it to automatically heat to the selected temperature.
If youre looking for an iron that combines lightness with powerful performance, this Steam Iron is a perfect choice. It offers the ideal balance of comfort, convenience, and effectiveness, making ironing a less taxing chore.
