I have been using the gray model of this water bottle for over a year now and have dropped it many times (including onto pavement) without any visible cracks.
After 2 days of gentle use, the silicone rubber encasement has already torn.
After 2 months, the hinges started coming undone.
After less than 2 months of use and regular washing, the silicone seal on my water bottle lid developed black mold embedded in the material, indicating poor material durability.

The bottle is leak-proof. I tested it by filling it, turning it over and shaking it over the sink with no leaks.
I can no longer mix water and powdered electrolytes by shaking the new bottle vigorously as the lid is loose and it leaks water. The original bottle was completely leak proof.

The bottle has a strap for easier carrying, which helps me when I am walking to a meeting with 10 other things in my hands.
