About Pioneer Diamante Series Ductless Mini-Split Air Conditioner Inverter Heat Pump Full Set
89% found the ventilation options useful, while 11% were indifferent
The remote works very well and everything is clearly marked.
The remote control and display on my unit are not working.
I have noticed that the thermostat feature in the remote doesn't work well. I have had this feature on other air conditioners too, but it seems to never work. I think that this is one of those things that looks great on paper but doesn't work in practice and Pioneer is no exception. Rephrased: The thermostat feature in the remote doesn't work well, even though I've had it on other air conditioners. It's one of those things that looks great on paper but doesn't work in practice, and Pioneer is no exception.
There are no wireless controls until I buy and install an extra device. Even after installing the device, the wireless/smart/automation integration is not good. The app also needs a huge overhaul.
97% liked the cooling capacity, but 3% didn't
The air conditioner is cooling great.
The air conditioner efficiently cools the garage and maintains a consistent temperature. The cooling and heating modes work like a charm, ensuring my comfort year-round without any hiccups.
The machine cools extremely well with a noticeable temperature difference between the cold air coming out and the warm air going in.
I had to pay an additional $1,000 to have 50 liters of coolant added because there was only 2 ounces in the unit.
94% were impressed with the noise level, yet 6% found it slightly bothersome
The unit is extremely efficient and very quiet. The outside unit makes so little noise that it cannot be heard inside an uninsulated trailer.
The air conditioner is super quiet and can't be heard inside or outside the house.
The split-system-air-conditioner provides cold air with a nice noise level.
The outdoor unit started making noise.
92% appreciated the less maintenance, while 8% faced issues
The maintenance requirements of Pioneer split-system-air-conditioners are high. The fan motor is designed to fail after 2 years and almost 100% of these units will need a brand new $100 (after shipping) fan motor. Replacing the motor yourself is not easy, and it is a 1-hour job for even an experienced tech. If I want a TECH to do it, good luck finding ANYONE who will work on Pioneer, or even offer to work on it without bursting out laughing, then handing me an estimate for $1000 minimum labor charge (more than the entire cost of the brand new system).
95% found it quick to install, yet 5% encountered difficulties
The scariest part of the installation was cutting a hole in the side of the house.
Drilling a 3-inch hole for access lines was the most challenging part of the installation process. It requires patience and a strong drill.
Installation of this split-system-air-conditioner is non-trivial but DIY is certainly doable if I'm handy.
I called an A/C tech to check for leaks, evacuate the system, recharge with freon, and perform an overall check of the system installation.
92% liked the air filteration system
I need to rinse out the filters regularly, but it's super-easy if the indoor unit is in an easy-to-reach place.
