The installation process was not bad. If you have an AC buddy who can do the installation for a few hundred, it's better to go for that.
I found the installation process of the split-system-air-conditioner easy, but the instructions provided were not helpful. I had to take help from youtube university and installation video on Costway.com. The only confusing part was the communication wire. Four colors that don't match and no instructions about where they go.
Installation was less complicated and truly DIY because we could use the unit on 125V.

I am happy with how well the air conditioner cools after using it for two months.
I installed the air conditioner in my garage in Texas where it is usually over 100° and was impressed with its performance as it kept my garage cool.
After using this heat pump for a week, I found that it cools much better than the 5K window unit that was in there before and uses about half the electrical power doing it.
The cooling capacity of 12K BTUs is perfect for my space and it made the installation less complicated.
