After the test cycle, the remote control will work normally.
I used the remote control feature to set the unit to super cool mode.
I found that the air conditioner has a remote control that works fine and built-in WiFi for use with a smart app 'AI-Home'. WiFi is built in to the unit and there is no need to look for a USB device as some have said, you just need to activate WiFi with the remote.

Installing it was not a major problem. Anyone with electrical or mechanical experience should be able to do it. It took me about a day and a half to complete the job.
