The speaker-feet-spikes come with discs that have indented bowl-shaped divots which allow for the speakers to move slightly from side to side and/or back to front, effectively decoupling the speakers from the floor and providing tighter and more accurate bass without interfering with a turntable.

I found the installation process of the speaker-feet-spikes easy with clear instructions on the size of drill bit to use and the use of an allen wrench to screw the inserts in.
Installing speaker-feet-spikes requires a drill bit and a hex key. It's fairly easy to add decoupling to a set of speakers for the money. Match the exterior diameter without the threads if drilling into wood, as the threads are long and thin like wood screws and cut into wood with a tight fit.
The installation process was easy. I didn't have to use barbs or insert nuts. The screws went right into the bottom of the speakers which already had metal screw holes.
